Time is running out for OPEN enrollment -- Deadline March 15th
The Learning Community of Douglas and Sarpy Counties wants to remind parents that the Open Enrollment deadline for the next school year is almost here. If you are interested in considering another school district for your child, applications must be postmarked by March 15 or delivered in person by 5 p.m. to the school district where you want to send your child. Attention ALL Aspiring Chefs!
The Food Service Department is sponsoring the 3rd annual Middle School Magic Meal Culinary Challenge. Stop by the cafeteria or your Family Consumer Science class today to get your entry form. Turn in your recipe to be part of your school’s team! Sixth grade submit recipes for a healthy appetizer, seventh grade submit recipes for a vibrant salad and eighth grade for a chicken entree by Friday, February 10th, for a chance to compete in the district wide cook off on February 28th. A team of three from each Middle school will compete.

Attention 8th Grade
Parents & Students There is a Rotary Honor Roll presentation for 8th grade during their Packtime on Tuesday, January 17th that will explain the application process for all 8th grade students. Every 8th grade student is eligible to apply for the Rotary Honor Roll either by getting an application from the counseling office or from the RMS website. The deadline to turn in the application is Friday, February 17th. We encourage every 8th grade student to apply. The names will be announced in March and the Honor Roll luncheon will be on Wednesday, May 2nd. If there are any questions regarding the application process, please contact Mrs. Augustine at 402-715-8509 or by email at vcaugustine@mpsomaha.org.

Russell Student Led Conferences
Click on the letter icon for information regarding student led conferences to be held on Monday, February 6 from 4-7PM, Tuesday, February 7 from 4-7PM and Thursday, February 9 from 12:30-3pm. and instructions for selecting a time for your appointment. A red bin has been placed right outside the office (under the glass window) for all Lost & Found items (clothing, shoes, lunch boxes etc.) and can be looked through and picked up anytime by students. |

Attendance Notification Letters
The Millard Board of Education recently adopted changes to Board Rule 5200.1 regarding attendance, tardiness, and excessive absences. Beginning January 5th 2012, Millard Public Schools will only send attendance notivication letters to students who have reached their 8th and 15th day of absence. The revised policy may be found at http://www.mpsomaha.org/. |
